Join the Blue Hill Troupe for our spring production of a rarely produced Broadway gem, Larry Gelbart, Cy Coleman, and David Zippel's glamorous and seductive "City of Angels." Set in 1940's Hollywood, it tells the story of Stine, a writer attempting to write a screenplay of one of his novels. As the black & white plot of his film noir gets more complicated, so does his full color personal life. The galvanizing score and fascinating double-story culminate in a big, happy Hollywood ending.
Directed by Andy Sandberg with music direction by Andrew Sotomayor, the production features our trademark fantastic sets and costumes, full band, and an incredible cast, to be presented at El Teatro of El Museo del Barrio (1230 Fifth Avenue at 104th Street) from April 21-29, 2017 in six performances only. Tickets are available here.
....or you can see Casey in March as she continues to accomplish the full Gilbert & Sullivan repertoire!
The NYCLA Foundation Summons You to its Annual Spring Fundraiser to see Highly acclaimed Utopia Opera perform Gilbert & Sullivan’s one-act legal satire, TRIAL BY JURY.
Edwin has jilted Angelina and now she's taken him to court for breach of promise to marry. In this trial, the defendant is a playboy, the scorned plaintiff flirts shamelessly with the all-male jury, and confusion reigns until the judge renders a verdict that all can readily accept.
